Dancing with the drums grounds us into the earth where we are always held in safety and the unwavering support. Free-flowing movement and dance will be encouraged as a form of movement meditation. Without choreography\, a dancer can find new ways of moving\, which helps us embody new ways of being and thinking in our daily lives. Ecstatic dance comes from the Latin word ekstasis meaning to become unstuck or free from blocks which is why it works so powerfully with the drums to remove perceived inner limitations. Both drumming and dancing provide powerful non-verbal outlets for expressing our emotions and releasing what no longer serves.
