SUMMARY:Gebiya Sacred Shamanic Style Healing Drum Circle
DESCRIPTION:Join Christopher at Soul Shine in Mountain Top\, PA for a Gebiya Sacred Drum Circle from 6:30-8:30pm$30 per person\nThere will be time for Shamanic Style Healing sessions as participants can lay down\, if they want to\, and receive this healing..\nThere is power in Drumming alone\, but that power recombines and multiplies on many simultaneous levels in a group of drummers. The drums draw individual energies together\, unifying them into a consolidated Force. The rhythm of drumming is easy for our bodies to take in\, as was the rhythm of our mother’s heartbeat. That rhythm renews us is no secret. Drumming is the oldest form of music on the planet. Virtually every culture that exists or has existed on earth has practiced some form of drumming. In Africa\, the beating of a drum continues to be an important part of significant ceremonies and holiday celebrations. Native American cultures use drumming as a means to reconnect an individual’s mental and physical selves. Throughout history\, drumming has been a part of performing rituals\, marking significant transitions\, and celebrating life’s cycles. Our lives are infused with rhythm beginning at the very moment we first sense our mother’s heartbeat in her womb.\nAll manner of drumming has the ability to put us in touch with our own natural rhythms\, the rhythms of the earth\, and the rhythms of the people we choose to drum with. The drum can represent the heart\, and drumming awakens the mind while stirring the soul. Drumming can take you to a place deep inside you where you are keenly aware of your mind and your body\, as well as the vital bond between the two. Much like human beings\, each drum has its own vibration and voice. Drumming alone can help you release tension\, dispel stress and aggressive feelings\, and restore your energy. It can also give you an opportunity to reestablish your connection to Mother Earth\, as the beat of a drum can represent a crack of lightning\, pounding ocean waves\, or the tumult of an earthquake.\nDrumming with others brings with it many benefits. Taking part in a drumming circle attunes us to the invisible energy that exists between us while uniting us in a common purpose. Drumming can be relaxing as well as energizing. It quiets mental chatter and can create a peaceful meditative state. In Navajo lore\, the drum is the Great Spirit’s favorite instrument. It is said that this is why all human beings were given a heartbeat. The rhythmic beating of a drum can move us into new realms of consciousness. There is no right or wrong way to drum\, and everyone has the innate ability to create rhythm. When you drum with intention\, you’ll discover the rhythms that move you.\nJoin us and Melt with us ..$30 per personContact Joann at Soul Shine to reserve your spot at 570-793-4213.(Bring a drum\, rattle or shaker. Some will be provided for those who don’t have one)

Her prayer is that the rhythm of the drum awakens the heartbeat deep within us so we can connect to the love\, nurturing\, and the healing of this being\, our Mother Earth. We become as one with the pulse and rhythm of her heartbeat\, the heartbeat that is in all living things.\nIn the Native American culture the drum has been called the Heartbeat of Mother Earth\, awakening the senses\, stirring the soul\, building community and facilitating healing. We are all born with a drum – our Heartbeat.\nIn this Drum Birthing Workshop we will be creating a 15-inch or 20-inch round drum using deer\, elk or buffalo hide. You will also receive a FREE drumbeater.\nDEER MEDICINE: Deer medicine touches and heals our hearts. The medicine of the North: the red road and the path of the Heart. When we are healing our heartaches\, heartbreaks\, or opening the heart and learning to speak from the heart\, drumming with deer is powerful medicine. Deer will open you to the higher truth of the intention of your heart.\nELK MEDICINE: The animal spirit of Elk is one of strength\, nobility\, pride\, survival\, and stamina. Elk medicine teaches us that by pacing ourselves we increase our stamina. Elk people may not complete a project first\, but when it is done they have not burned themselves out. Elk are able to look at the long journey and to “hit their stride” to maintain energy and perseverance. Elk reminds us of the importance of community\, most especially fellowship with our same gender.\nBUFFALO MEDICINE: Buffalo Medicine is one of the strongest\, fierce and confident energies. The buffalo is powerful medicine that is a symbol of sacrifice and service to the community. The buffalo is also a symbol of gratitude and honor as it is happy to accept its meager existence as it stands proud against the winds of adversity. The buffalo represents abundance of the Creator’s bounty and respect for all creation knowing that all things are sacred. The buffalo represents a manifestation of the divine aspects of our being.\n*****************************Participants will receive instruction on how to assemble their very own 15-inch or 20-inch Native American hand drum. The process is ceremonial from start to finish in the spirit of the Cherokee and truly bonds us to our drum and our own sacred rhythms. We will initiate the drum with a sacred song & sage smudging.
